075: Connections with Strangers

Mixed feelings for this page. Panels one, three, and four are nice and different from what I usually do; on the contrary, panels two, five, and six are pretty much exactly the same. I was looking for alternatives for a long time… but the last two panels had to be at the same angle and the second one felt weird at any other angle and when it came to that the last two did as well… ._.; But they all look weird anyway. Somehow Vark seems more his age here… which, strangely enough, is not how he should be.

I felt this was an excellent opportunity to show you the diversity of Kenah. The Wevlynq in panel 3 is an example of the end of the spectrum opposite Leanael and Ciaran. His face is shaped like that of an animal, as are his feet, and he has fur all over his body. These Wevlynq usually still have hair on their heads, although it's pretty common for a male not to (for females it's a bit less common, but still normal). Neither Dragons nor Wevlynq have to have wings. I guess this pair of Companions can stick to the ground together. ^^ The Wevlynq is a lupinoid or wolf Wevlynq. Thanks to my friend Mike for helping me figure out the colours on these two.

So we reach our third milestone. *pops a confetti thing* 75 pages, and a third of that left to 100. I remember back at page 50 saying that page 100 would take us to around chapter six. I said that because we were in chapter three, but look now - page 75 already and only on chapter four. Chapter two is actually very short compared to my other chapters, and chapter one is also under average. So page 100 will be in chapter four or five. (I'm very aware of my terrible estimating skills…)

I decided to colour this milestone like I did the last. In the other one there were a lot of backgrounds, so it looked nicer in that way, but that was one of the first times I'd coloured anything, whereas here I've had much more practice, so I think I have more knowledge of how to match colours and shade and such. My drawing skills have also improved, so I think this page is in general better than page 50.

As you can see, I'm going to try Monday updates. I would have updated last Monday but I didn't really think about it until it was too late, and besides I probably wouldn't have had time to do colour with the page anyway.

I miss the days when ToK updated twice a week. I don't want to promise biweekly updates because I'm not likely to be able to keep them up, but hopefully I'll be able to get in the odd extra Friday update.
