Vera drops a bomb leaving Jen cold even though she has redressed. I couldn't resist having the canine nicknamed Gruff. Maybe he moonlights as a crime investigator. I'll see what he looks like in a trenchcoat and fedora. Vera probably does know him from her days as a pirate, he might have even served on her crew at one point. 

The furries have names for amongst themselves and "nicknames" for naked skins. Most furries have languages adapted from animal sounds coming from their ancient subcultures so are very difficult to pronounce for naked skins. Their different dental structure and hearing led to a different mix of sounds that normal humans can't pronounce or even hear. But where are their tails? That is a nasty story. Thre is such a warped hatred of tails among humans that many will cut the tails off any human or humanoid they see, Therefore nearly all furries had their tails clipped as children to avoid attack or for specious reasons of utility and cleanliness sort of like all male children used to be circumcised. Furries do not talk about tail clipping. You want to get your throat ripped out talk about tail clipping. Walk into a bunch of African Americans and talk about lynching or how much you miss black face minstrel shows.
