I managed to get the warp graphic I was looking for USS Surprise here. Took a bit of work but in the the end it was something simple like not using the "wind" effect enough times and making certain the ship was at the proper angle for the effect. 

At per some reader suggestions this finally reveals Sulu and Spock's sexual preference. Turns out Sulu gets the nose bleeds even though he doesn't like girls.  A twist on the common interpretation of the trope. But then it has gotten awfully twisted in more recent anime with girls having them over super moe kawaii characters. 

And the buffer was down to three. Actually two since the third page isn't done and requires additional photography.
