Author notes
On the last page we go over how the pages are put together. There is also a look at a more complex panel and a before and after shot of a figure showing what is necessary to show one undressed. They do have ones that are seamless now, but they are very expensive and frankly don't do poses well even with steel skeletons and all kinds of foam outer skin. They're more for standing there and giving the "come hither" look wearing all sorts of impractical get-ups. So I stick to my painting and blending to get the look I want. There are also totally photo realistic heads these days, but again they have one expression. To change an experssion you either change the head (now you have two expressions! Wow!) or I'd have to do all the painting and blending I do now. So I might as well stick to what I have. When I got my Graphic Arts certification I studied Maya and Lightwave so I have done 3D modeling. But the kinesthetic element drew me back to the figures. I like to hold them and move them around with my hands as opposed to on a screen. Though if I went 3D I could clean out a couple of storage rooms in the house and reap in several thousand dollars selling all the stuff I have. I could probably get about $40 on Ebay for one of the ladies pictured. And I have almost a hundred of them.
