Hank, and Jack, are very old school.
Pirates LOOT! we Pillage! we dont bathe!(philosophy shared by both Jack and One Leg Murphy) That philosophy also lands them in trouble with women.
um…he lost his right eye, in a knife fight with a prostitute on Holsha island…reason…he wouldn't bathe first….she pulled a knife…Hank lost the fight…and his eye.
lost his leg in Tendrin, with ANOTHER prostitute…this time a sword fight…over his refusal not to stink…He was insulted by her insults, and they both drew blades…it was a fierce fight! girl was pretty good…to Hanks surprise…he admired this Lass…she cut his lower left leg off, with one stroke. Hank liked that..and HER. she joined his crew for awhile…but left…she sought out a ship that had showers.she liked the plunder, but she couldn't no longer stand the smell of Hank's boat .
