Episode 24: Don't Order the Wine

Another thing with Bard's Tale. I kicked my way into and out of three taverns which all sold the same boring ales and meads (as if anyone drinks mead except William Stukeley-wannabes). So when I kicked to the fourth, and they sold wine, I ordered it. Next thing I know, no warning, no further dialogue (at least the Tank Questers get that), the picture changed from a pub to a catacomb, and the text space said "you are in the catacombs."
I only wanted a glass of wine. Which I never got, but its cost was deducted from the party's gold.
That said, Bard's Tale was way ahead of its time (made in 1986, I believe) and was one of the grandfathers of modern RPG's.
