These old drawings are much more loose and free flowing because I just took out the old pen and drew from beginning to end. I didn't even rough out the pages, so they are full of mistakes. I have to admit that I went back in with Photoshop and cleaned up the lettering and whatever ink splotches got in the way of the telling the story.
With a small plane like the Cessna we had to climb out on the step, hang on the strut or crouch in the doorway in order to launch at the same moment. The pilot would cut back the engine for a few seconds to reduce the wind resistance for us. I always felt a surge of adrenaline when they shouted "cut!" to the pilot.
