The Adventures of Superchum and the Mighty Befrienders

SteveMyers22 onHere it is Chum-Fans! Finally some super powers in action! I'm pretty excited about this page. I got to let loose a bit with the figures in the artwork. And a near disaster yesterday actually prompted me to fix something about the page I didn't like. I accidentally saved next week's black and whites over this week's color flats mid-week. Losing about 2 days worth of work. So last night I went in and recolored everything from scratch. Which helped me fix the flying woosh effect much more to my liking and the spacey effect in the third panel came out much better the second time around.
Ah yes … before I forget:
With just one more page left in Superchum's origin tale (Which, btw, has now been given a name by Chum-Fan Jack Baney who suggested this very fitting name … "If Joviality Be My Destiny!") … anyways, with just one more page left in this chapter, I can give a little teaser of what's to come!
- You'll meet some of the villains that inhabit the suburban landscape that Superchum and the Mighty Befrienders call home.
- You'll get a quick rundown of Superchum's powers and capabilities. As well as a brief overview of what his sidekicks and allies can do. And where they all hang out.
- You'll meet the Anti-Chum. Not quite a villain. Not quite an ally. Something altogether different.
- You'll get acquainted with Superchum's daily routine, and see Superchum emcee a local suburban charity event, sponsored by a major sport in the Superchum universe.
All of this is planned before the real plot twists start! Space Cows! Dream Girls! Flower Power! For long-time Chum Fans, a lot of hanging plots and unexplained mysteries are finally going to be revealed. This time, I'm going full tilt with all of the whackiness I've always wanted to do with this comic.
