SteveMyers22 onNow this page was fun to draw! First up, all of the old-time chum-fans who are familiar with my previous work will recognize the triumphant return of two of my favorite villains to write: Freezie Freeze and Moonbeam. For new readers, let me just say that throughout the years of doing Superchum in his various forms, I tend to really have fun writing my villains. I get to put a lot of my own personality as well as frustrations and "rants" into their characters. Which is one of the big reasons why I'm presenting my villains in this follow-up to the origin. It's basically a chance to meet some of them.
Some things to note:
- Yes those are Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie spoofs. Yes I did have Freezie Freeze finally put an end to their shennanigans! The world is much better off now that they're in stasis.
- The "seminar" as you'll see in the next few weeks is a longer gag, involving the ads I keep seeing before movies I go to all summer long. It seems Regal Cinemas likes to rent out its theater for business meetings and the like. And they have this really corny ad to hype this. So my response: The advertising works! Baron Bad-Guy is going to have the coolest power point display in town!
- Freezie Freeze uses a cosmic powered ice-cream cone, kind of like Green Lantern's power ring. He can make constructs out of it's magical energy, but they're all ice-cream themed.
- Moonbeam is powered by the moon. Which is why he's a "lunatic."
- At some point readers will notice that I refer to the suburbs merely as Suburbs. That's because Superchum is located in a town actually named Suburbs. It's a nod to The Tick who is from The City. Just want to get that cleared up before someone asks.
So yeah, that's pretty much all I want to reveal about the current story right now. It's been a lot of fun to write so far.
