Here's the latest page of Theater of Villainy. This one was like pulling teeth, but I'm mostly pleased with the finished product. One of the rare instances where I think my inks helped strengthen the page. Still I'd like to have a second chance at that first panel.
Some things to note: - The Malevolent Muse, if you haven't guessed by now, doesn't speak in a language anyone can understand. There's two people in the Superchum mythology who can understand them. Neither of which show up in this comic for a long while.
- I looked up the polish word for thank you, because Mr. Mean is polish and the Baron felt it rather diplomatic to use some of his native language. In the context of the story, Mr. Mean is there representing a different group of Super Villains than the ones assembled here. He's part of a group called Not-Nice-People. They're all geriatric criminals who work out of a nursing home. (And if Brock reads this, sorry man, they were Superchum's first villains like waaaay back when I was 15, but I don't use them that much and they're not at all like your wonderful comic!). Anyways, all of the villains except their leader are based on former high school teachers of mine. Mr. Mean is based on my old Pre-Calc teacher. Who was polish. And would call us all "Child Typie" and would speak with a pretty thick accent. So that's where that's all coming from.
Be here next week for the conclusion of Theater of Villainy. It began with Freezie and Moonbeam and will end with them. They really are some of my favorite characters to write.
