For two thousand years, since the death of Dragonkind the twelve greatest mages of the planet stood as one against the forces of darkness. Upon his or her death, a mage would magically transfer all their knowledge into a crystal which would be bestowed upon their replacement, so the Dragons knowledge would never die.

If you were one of the Twelve Great Mages you were granted the title of Ho, aswell as the right to wear the white finery of the staion.

Using their power they ensured the peace and harmony of the planet, repairing the blights the war had caused, teaching magic to bearkind, keeping the dark forces at bay.

For 2000 years they stayed true to their task, until the second great war and the incident at Old Carinous.
