It is a dark and stormy night, and standing in the torrential downpour is a young fox, with completely white fur, save for the light blue highlights in his hair. He is wearing simple garb; only a pair of loosly fitting black pants and a deep blue vest. He is also wearing an odd, skinny black backpack that fits him quite snugly. Oddly enough, he seems completely dry even with the storm engulfing him.
"You can come out so I can see you now," he says without turning towards the hidden creature, Bo in hand. "You know, you can be quite hard to track." He finally turns to the creature, still slightly out of his eyesight. "Come on, I know you're there."
The creature seems to glide forward to the young fur, but pauses at the sight of the fur's confusion. "You are…not quite what I expected to see. What are you, shadow fiend?!"
The creature simply extends one hand out and offers two things: a letter and a red gem that glistens when the lightning strikes off in the distance.
The young fur, now curious, slowly reaches out to take the items, and when his hand brush against the gem, the creature disappears in an instant!
He quickly takes up a defensive position, and, realizing that there is no immediate danger, picks up the letter and gemstone.
He opens the letter, and it reads the following: "I offer the power to grant any wish your heart desires. I offer the power to destroy…or protect. I offer…Odin's Eye. However, I will not bestow this on just ANYONE. Only on someone whom I find worthy. If you believe yourself to deserve the Eye, sign your name on this letter with your blood, then the path to my world will open where you will fight others for it."
Finally, he thinks, I can find the answers that I seek.
Indeed, he slits open a tiny part of his ear (because to cut a finger before battle can be a very bad thing, as he knew his Uncle had found out many years before), just enough to draw blood, and writes his name on the letter. For a split second, the blood he just put on the paper glowed bright blue, then cooled to the color of the ink on the rest of the letter.
When he looked up from the letter, a black door had already appeared in front of him.
He checked his backpack, making sure it was full, and opened the portal door to face whatever might come his way head-on.
