Strip 187: This Could Have Been An Email

I had to clean out half of my desk for this strip! Half! The things we do for art…

This strip has like three noteworthy things about it, all to do with phones:
- It made me realize that the last time we saw an actual phone, as opposed to showing a character with one of those lightning speech bubble effects and trusting they had a phone, was all the way back in Strip 8. (The phone here is shown because it's being handed off between two people.)
- Speaking of those lightning speech bubble effects, I figured out how to make them look good! See if you can figure out the trick.
- And speaking of the phone here, that's the very same phone that had its battery swell. (Don't worry, the battery was removed. I wouldn't use an explosive as a prop for the comic unless I was being sponsored by a sparkling water brand.) Bizarrely, the older temporary replacement phone used to photograph this strip is the same model of phone as the one used as the prop phone in Strip 8, which was taken with the newer one. Crazy how that works out.
