Once again, this strip is brought to you thanks to my sister graciously allowing me the use of her scanner. Thanks indeedy, Cheryl.
Anyways, I wouldn't exactly call this one groundbreaking. Still, it does its job. I came up with it when thinking about all the various romantic relationships suffered by either myself or the people I know. The type where one person just sort of jerks around the other one. And, well, the other one doesn't do too much about it because love makes them stupid. The first casualty of any relationship like that is dignity.
In this strip I sort of emphasized this. (A little)
I used the brush for the outline features in the first two panels. The rest were done in various nib sizes. I didn't do any crosshatching on this one and relied on prismacolor for the entirety of the shading.
My friend Pat told me that I should do more cartoons in the vein of the "Tom of Finland" strip from a month or two ago. I briefly considered it for this strip, but I ultimately decided against it. The men in Tom of Finland's art are all explicitly muscled, and I thought it served the gag better to have the man in this be flabby and wearing duckie underpants.
