I wasn't really a big Transformers fan as a kid. I was more into the Ninja Turtles at that time. Still, I picked up enough to get the basic concept of the series. And, well, it always kinda bothered me that these robot guys were always waging their epic battles in places light years away from their actual homes. It seemed awfully convenient for both sides.
When Cheryl was scanning this in, she remarked that the red robot has the same hat as Stan on South Park. I didn't intend for that to happen, but she's totally right.
My main concern before that was with the other robot. I thought that he looked a bit too much like Psychoman, a Fantastic Four villain from the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby era.

There are a few stylistic choices I made when creating this strip. First off, only the robots are shaded with cross-hatching. The humans and the background are shaded solely with prismacolor marker. I did this in order for the robots to look more different and alien.
Also, I downloaded a Transformers font in order to use it for this week's Capital of Helsinki logo. However, the phrase "Capital of Helsinki" and the word "Transformers" are structured pretty differently. I don't think that the Transformers font is unique enough for the style of the lettering to carry over.
