I decided that I wanted to make a nautically themed strip with a Popeye analogue. I don't know exactly why, but I've learned that it's prudent for me to go with my impulses when it comes to Capital of Helsinki strips.

I tried out a couple of new approaches to color in this strip. The Kraken is rendered with a peach marker that I usually reserve for flesh tones. The ocean has several different hues of blue instead of the two-toned rendition I applied in the past. Hell, I even threw some extra color into the sky.

I tried to find a Popeye font for the logo of this week's strip. I did find a font modeled after E.C. Segar's handwriting, but I thought that was a bit too inside. In the end I couldn't find one that I was satisfied with.

There are a ton of KFC fonts out there though. Weird.
