Over the course of doing The Capital of Helsinki I have done strips lampooning vampires, zombies, and The Frankenstein monster. I haven't done a mummy gag though, and I didn't want it to feel left out.
I still haven't done anything with werewolves. Maybe I'll think of something before Halloween comes and goes.
Shortly before I put this up I realized that I made a rather glaring anatomy error in panel four. The mummy's thumb is facing the wrong way. (Which is a total rookie mistake)
Er, I suppose this particular sect of ancient Egyptians severed the hands and then put them back on the other way during mummification. Yeah, that's the ticket. I'm giving myself a no-prize.
Edit: Okay, my neurotic artist brain couldn't handle the strain of letting this anatomy error stand. I tried to fix up my original art as best I could. I then rescanned it back into my laptop and did the whole process all over again. There were some cosmetic changes to the dialogue, and I also added some highlights to the mummy's surprise lines in panel three. I had wanted to do that while I was drafting the strip but I forgot.
I know it's only a silly little four panel gag strip that nobody is going to look at for more than ten seconds. But, well, it's still mine and I want to be able to stand behind it.
