I've had some people come to me asking how recent is the cherubs script. Everything up until chapter 6 was written in 2016, way before a few things that have come up. It does bother me a bit how relevant the script is for me on a personal level, but really looking into things and meditating it's really not much different from the things that's happened to me and loved ones in the past. i feel like i say this over and over again but cherubs really was a mix of a really tough time period and people that suffered a lot of abuse and substance problems. it's a comic based on real life with an occult taste. I think since a lot of people told em they relate to it means it means to others too or how much of this horrible shit people go through than we realize. We'll get consumed by our own problems and think no one else is going through the same thing due to misguided perceptions, but we are all in the same shithole.

corey alludes here that there was something that happened to him that he feels he can never live down and it's either treating him delicately or not telling him shit period. this frustrated him because he's been called to help out with nani but the cherub guys didn't tell him anything else for fear of triggering anything that let up to his hospital days. at the same time he doesn't have much to talk to with his issues and brady's blowups that everything just eats at him and he lightly takes it out on nani. that's how he sees it but in reality it's him gently asking what's her story if she's gonna stay with him as brady said. Brady doesn't want to hurt corey but finds himself doing that when he smokes, yet he can't push him away he needs him. it's a complicated situation.
