The way people view Chuck Norris is that he must either be completely invincible and always win no matter what, or they say that he can indeedly be defeated and that all the Norris freaks are just loons.
I'm on the fence with this one. I don't really care either way.
But with the idea of having one of the characters in this comic having a class called "Chuck Norris" I'm opposed. I rather you not do that, Gaddick.
It's your decision in the end, and you can do whatever you want in your comic, but that's just my opinion.
No Chuck Norris, I hate how people are always going on about Chuck Norris. Bruce Lee is where it's at. In a fight between Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee in the movie Way of the Dragon Bruce Lee KILLED Chuck Norris. Not pummeling him and moving on or leaving him groaning on the floor, no that fucker was dead.
As for the Barrel Mage thats actually an interesting idea similar to the cannoneer. The cannoneer mix various items together like a chemist and turns them into deadly blasts.
I've just today came up with a few for Jess, remember Darkstalkers, that were wolf bruce lee thing? Ya that, he'd dig it, that and a class known as Chuck Norris… Sadly I'm being quite serious, Vastel came up with the idea of a Barrel mage, which is basically a mage that blasts magic spells through a barrel like it was a cannon. This idea I like. In the following week (hopefully) we'll get down to voting for Gaddicks class change atleast, each character will have atleast 3 classes to vote on (I think and hope for atleast) but til then I'm still open to ideas, at the moment the only idea I have for Yaj is the Necrolocke… which is insanely badass yes but I need more people!
Right, I feel silly now. Also in the remake of FF5, one of my personal favorites, there were the Necromancer, Oracle, Cannoneer and Gladiator classes which were all quite powerful.
Ah DnD, what fun, also Colak it was Dark Knight not Death Knight that had the Dark Wave ability. Granted Dark Knights brought alot of death so I can understand the confusion. Thanks for the support guys!
Death knight IS actually a class that pops up in final fantasy a couple times, Final Fantasy 2/4 being one of them. Most powerful ability being the dark wave in which they hurt themselves and cast a wave of darkness that damages all enemies.
One of my favorite classes was the Craftknights who used the aid summoned creatures to craft superior weaponry though none of your characters would really fit the craftknight description. Also it would likely slow the comic down.
Also Final Fantasy's classes include quite a bit. Warrior, Monk, Samurai, Dragoon, Thief, Ninja, Dark Knight, Paladin, Hunter, Viking, Berserker, Mystic Knight, Onion Knight, Machinist, Freelancer, Gunner, Black Mage, White Mage, Summoner, Time Mage, Scholar, Green Mage, Sage, Alchemist, Red Mage, Blue Mage, Geomancer, Bard, Beastmaster, Dancer, Gambler, Mime and Puppet Master. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_Fantasy_character_jobs
If all else fails you can always delve into dnd classes.
What about the General class from the Fire Emblem games? Those guys can be rather tough to take down, with their tremendous amounts of defense. In Sacred Stones of the Fire Emblem franchise, they can wield huge, massive blades, similar to Gaddick's.
A sword master or rouge from that series can also be an option. Rouges can pick locks and doors without the need of an item. Their speed also makes them nearly untouchable.
Another interesting idea is using the weapon and meiser concept from the Soul Eater series.
In that series, weapons have a human form, and can switch between weapon and human. Meisers are beings who wield those transforming weapons. Only certain meisers can wield certain weapons.
A weapon as powerful as the Bahamut Fang, or whatever Jay stole from the shop keeper is immensely powerful, right? It wouldn't be a stretch to claim that they have a conscious and a humanoid form as well.
Jay or someone else could become an S rank weapon meiser, and the Bahamut Fangs would only reveal awaken once he has that class. Weapons tend to be far stronger when they have a consciousness, since only then can they combine soul wavelengths with their wielder and transform to a more powerful form.
It's called "Soul Resonance" in Soul Eater. It basically transforms the weapon to an ascended form, adds the Meiser's and the weapon's powers together, then multiplies it by several times for a devastating strike. How many times their powers are multiplied depends on how well the weapon and meiser can cooperate.
Maybe you could even have a plot device happen where Gaddick's unnamed sword somehow magically gains a soul for no logical or sane reason, and have it be able to "Soul Resonance" with him, and transform into an even more massive sword. If you do end up doing that, however, Gaddick's unnamed sword should begin to speak, since it'll have a consciousness. Can't "Soul Resonance" with a weapon without a consciousness. It might also be able to transform to a human, but since Gaddick's unnamed sword was crafted by human hands (I'm assuming), not born due to a biological or magical method, it shouldn't necessarily have a human form.
It would be a dues ex machina event for Gaddick to gain a massive amount of power due to an awaken weapon, if it happens during a crisis or a battle he's losing, though.
These ideas aren't exactly my own, I just edited some of them to suit the needs of your comic. I think I gave ideas more on the weapons of the party members, rather than their future classes…
Thank you Templar! Those are exactly the ideas I need! Granted a blood bender from Avatar is basically a water bender that goes "Wait… blood counts as water" and becomes a vindictive puppet master but hey, I can make that better. I like the gunslinger ideas too and it gives me some concepts for Randy.
For the third class change I'm trying to avoid the classes from Final Fantasy all together, these are uber classes that are taken from other games or invented like the Mystic Dragoon, the Death Knight, the Necrolocke and the unleashed berserker.

The DarkStalkers wolf guy is Jon Talbain/Gallon. Also I agree with Colak, on the Chuck Norris comment.

a bender like character, like from the avatar the last air bender, from any element.
one idea my friends and i like to talk about making a character for is a BLOOD bender.
then you have the gunslinger ideas…

Well, what are you thinking of? Because there are a ton of classes to choose from, especially in FF5.
