ACCESSORIES: LADY FIONA FIZIWIGG

Long before she ever became an agent in her majesty's service, Lady Fiona Fiziwigg had decided to live her life without pretense, or the constraints of social mores placed upon the women of her day, and fill her life full of grand adventure of every kind. At age 19, the already notorious gender bending adventuress, then known by her maiden name Fiona Farris Hollywelle, met the legendary adventurer Lord Montgomery "Monty" Fiziwigg while on safari in africa.

Said to be the inspiration for the famed fictional character Alan Quartermain, Monty had just returned from India where he'd discovered the legendary lost temple of the death goddess Kali and survived attack by the Kali death cult known as the Kalimah, when he began a romance with the young Fiona. Their world wind romance culminated in their wedding when she was 20 years and he was 72. As a wedding gift, Monty gave Fiona a pair of derringers that she affectionately calls "The Sisters". Five years later, while hunting a rogue lion that was terrorizing farms near his african estate Montivideyo, Monty was mauled by the lion and killed. His death left Fiona alone, heart broken, and left to fill the void in her life with increasingly death defying adventures before being called into service by the Queen. Some have said that it is Fiona's service to the crown as a Continental Operative, a dangerous occupation in an increasingly dangerous world, that actually saved her life from grief in the wake of Monty's death.

A skilled fencer, equestrian, marksmen, pugilist, swimmer, and gymnast, with a passion for competition of any kind, Fiona has 2 silver, pearl handled Sharp's pepperbox 4 shot derringers affectionately known as "The Sisters". Attached to her forearms by a spring-loaded harness very similar to that used by riverboat gamblers and western card sharks, the derringers are concealed from sight within the sleeves of her shirts until the spring mechanism is activated, thrusting the derringers forward into Fiona's open and ready hands to do their deadly business.

Fiona will occasionally accessorize The Sisters with the use of various other weapons like darts, swords, daggers, and the occasional additional firearm.

Next week we take a look at the what the well dressed posh upper class society men and women of the day were wearing in 19th century Mansfordshire.

NEXT WEEK–UPPER CLASS FASHION.
