Random Fact:
(and this really requires no response comments, so no one feel obligated! Just had something to get off of my chest. :D )
How Liz can update every day-
I have about 6-9 weeks of pages that I'd already drawn before starting to upload them to the internet. Inking them was fairly quick to get done, and so all I'm doing is coloring them.
Some people have approached me recently with the opinion that I should be concentrating on 'quality' over 'quantity', which I'm assuming means they think I'm just squeezing the pages out as fast as I can because I want the attention.
That's not really true.
As I've stated before, I'm a writer first, before being an artist. Yes, I'm quite aware that there are many glaring flaws in my work compared to some more polished comics, but my reasoning why I continue on this way is simple.
It is my utter, most frustrating pet peeve to get into a story, and then just have it die out. Or reading a well-done webcomic and see that it's only gotten 30 pages out in the last 4 years D: It was my intention to update daily, just in case something happened in the future where I couldn't get any more pages out. At least there'd be a greater chance of my story being completed. :D
While I understand many people have their schedule for comics set up a certain way to encompass their daily lives, its just very unreasonable in my head to have a story, and only release one page every few weeks or so. If even that.
Also, while my art will never be something feature-worthy in any circle, I'm comforatable with it's current level (when I'm not beating myself up), and really, I want you to see my story, not fawn over my pencil lines and tablet smears.
To some people a webcomic is their work of art, or that it shouldn't be viewed unless it's -perfect-. You're welcome to those opinions. To me any comic is an illustrated story. I'll polish the story first and the art as I go. (I tend to get emotionally invested as I'm drawing the comics since I'm so into the story, and at times it seems to act as a turbo boost for my art skill. O_O I like those times. Much more eye-opening than staring at tutorials, for me. I do still accept friendly tips and tricks though. :) )
And hey, if you really enjoy my artwork as well, thank you. :D It feels good to know. I'll still work on improving it mind you, but I'm not going to slow down the pace of my story to fine-tune anything if I don't -have- to.
Goodness I've been wordy this last month or so. D: Cookies for the bored? -offers plate-
