Collaboration with Sominous

Well, the issue is over so expect the fan art and X-mas special page to be moved to the end of this issue so readers will not be interrupted by them.

Generally on Thursdays my friend Sominous will come over to work on his comic Convenient Hell

We have been discussing the idea of working on a comic together. But our art styles are totally different and we also wanted a more mature darker tone for the comic which neither of us are really capable of pulling off at the moment IMO

I came up with an idea to merge the best of both our artistic skills.
He is much better at drawing a solid, well proportioned base than I am. But I am better at rendering the drawings to life. So I had him sketch out the character (also named Sominous) Then, thanks to the power of digital drawing and layers, I slapped my "style" on top of his. I then rendered it in darker and with heavier shadow.

The result surprised us. Art work better than either of us have ever made alone. A successful test run in our opinion. We'll be practicing more now for sure.

I wouldn't hold your breath for this comic, we won't get to work on it much. Hopefully once a week. And we intend to finish the 1st issue before we start putting them on DD.

I will learn a lot by working like this!
