The Ensuing Tales of Jayden and Crusader
Author notes
Sketch filler-now without ideas or punchlines!
Crusader1089 onSo… I said Thursday didn't I?
Well guess what. I LIED.
I can't even do it today, I'm just throwing up a filler.
I am such a lazy lazy man. With artistic block. And writer's block.
And a pile of work the size of Utah.
So…. yeah.
Below is a brief background to the picture based on my writings and musings. Also note, Pilate is not a representation of me, or Crusader. I just like to draw character's like that.
Pilate, centre, is cursed with immortality. Living at the perpetual age of 25 he has been promised the blissful silence of death by God, provided he serves 500,000 years of toil. To this end, he became the Guardian and works day and night to keep the time line in balance, master of technology and magic.
Kitsune, on the left, is the Daughter of Pilate, and is the daughter of Pilate's Third wife (deceased). From the moment she could walk she was trained to be a guardian. She too gained the curse of immortality, but of her own volition so she could stand with her father as the second Guardian.
Eddy, on the right, is Pilate's third apprentice and great-grandson, of Pilate's first wife. Born in the 22nd Century Eddy fought in the second American war of Independence, and was known for his integrity and valour. He has worked with Pilate for almost 50,000 years since their meeting and is now a partnership, more than a teacher-student relationship.
This picture is set just before the final Fifth Rebellion, which will culminate in the Century of Blood, where Eddy and Kistune flee from the massacre to found the order of Guardians elsewhere in the time line. Pilate will wake up at the end of the Century of Blood entirely unable to remember any of its events, with only a letter in his pocket. "Eddy and Kitsune are gone. I have wiped your memory of the events that created this sadness as I could not bare to remember it. Signed, Yourself"
