We learn that Laci has been fending for herself since she was merely 9 after tragic wars that took place 10 years ago…This kind of thing is common on the planet in this story. Nothing is simple or organized…There are very few orphanages and hospitals…Back to basics pretty much. As you may have noticed, Laci is a tad bit younger than Mota is. Regardless of the age differance (she is 19 he is 24), It's hard to tell since she was pretty much forced to grow up fast at a young age, with no prime examples to refer to.

A mysterious figure lurks in the Low Market of North Sand (Just as Serena predicted, there'd been alot more people there than usual.
