As you've seen again, it is a tradition of the wasteland to cremate a corpse and collect its ashes, for purposes unexplained. Mota isn't really in to his tribe's traditions if you havent noticed already. He is however, very concerned about many issues and isn't too interested about the story of Phoenix. Cleansing the desert of sentinels and assuring the safety of his family is currently at the top of his list.
