So it turns out, Orn didn't want her to grow up like she did :s, for many obvious and unknown reasons as well. Notice she speaks in past tense. It was war time, she probably felt that she would most likely die in the war and her daughter would surpass her. Ofcourse, that's what almost every parent wants eventually :s.

We see an entirely different side of Orn in this scene. But let me assure you, she is not only good at hiding her past, but you will see that she is also good at hiding physical wounds and scars xD. You might be surprised to find that Orn looks the way she does in the present, for a reason ;).
