Notes Barangay: Filipino term for a village, district or ward. Tanod: Neighborhood watchman and law enforcement officer in a barangay. Also known as the barangay tanod and BPSO (which can stand for barangay peace and security officer). The captain referred to in this page is the barangay captain, head of the barangay council.
