I never really created Laskar with the intention of comic relief, he just somehow turned out that way…
Lying is not something that's natural to Laskar. On the other hand, he can usually tell when someone is lying due to his senses. The contradiction between words and body vibes strikes him as ridiculous and thus he can't take a liar with a straight face.

Also, Montagu employs 'puppy eyes' in his arsenal of tricks.
