Consequences - Issue 13 [page 5]
Hey there, Everyone! My brother thinks that you might want to hear from me for a change, so I'm going to try to prepare comments for the Author's comments box for the forseeable future.

Today's page was one of those pages I couldn't wait to get to since I first plotted out how "Consequences" was going to go. I've also been a bit worried about how the whole hell part of the story would be received because of the seeming use of technology throughout the story. We're approaching the explanation for that, so hopefully that will make some sort of sense soon.

On a technical note, I've gone completely digital with the comic as of this page. I am the proud owner of a Gateway C142 XL tablet PC. Along with the portability this affords, I can also draw directly on to the screen, and the stylus even allows for 256 levels of pressure - which seems to be plenty. the upshot of this is that I now work completely paperless. I rough out a page of comics in Photoshop and then go over it in more detail on a separate layer. If you don't get what I'm saying, just trust me that it's HELLA cool! SpANG has been using a tablet PC for a while now, and had convinced me of it's charms many months ago, but now I'm completely hooked!

On a sales note, for those of you unaware, There are now digital (PDF) versions of our print comics available in our online store. These include "Going Home", "Myths & Legends" and "Short Stories Volume One" (each short story sold separately so you only have to buy what you want). These PDFs include All the extra pages you get in the printed books for a lower price than the paper version. this is because digits files are easier to distribute and less harmful to the environment. (I personally still prefer printed books, but I'm way old!)

Also available are the short story I've done for the Third Drunk Duck Anthology…" The Point of Some Return", which is my favorite short story to date. The digital file is actually better Than the printed version because it's in color and, it isn't missing a page! Only 75¢ Cheap!

One last thing, I do plan on making "For the Death of Kings" available as a digital file as well, but I want to tweak it a bit first (new cover, some quality improvements). I'll announce it here when it is ready. Of course, it's still included by the printed version of "Going Home: Book One":)

See? Ask me to write something and I can't shut up!

Talk to y'all in a few. - Chuck

From SpANG:
Okay, who's THIS guy now? What's 'The grid'? Don't you know you are screwed when you say "Now What" to yourself in a comic?

SPECIAL VOTE INCENTIVE up on Sunday & Monday. We'll show you who this character is. ;)
