First off:
New incentive: One of the first concept sketches for Calamity, datin' back to 'roundabouts 2000. She ain't changed so much- probably the least of all of 'em. Cutter's the oldest character- so if I can find some of him I'll post 'em one o' these days.
Second off:

Thanks to all y'all who nominated me! These are two things I take particular care with, so to get external validation for 'em is like a blowjob for my ego. ;) Again, moochas grassy ass.

Also, you definitely wanna check out the 2009 DD Awards Comic! There's great presentations and ya might stumble upon some new favorite comics among the veritable shit ton of worthy finalists.

Yeah. That sky looks awful, I know. Eventual when I get my very own scanner I'm-a fix the shit that Kinko's couldn't do.

Also: Haven't given y'all no comic recommendations in a whiles, so here's some of my new favorites here on DD:
The Continentals
Admittedly this one ain't too far in, but I saw some sample pages in the HELWID forum and it looks super-promisin'.
Louder Than Bombs
One of the best inked comics I've seen in a bit; sick humor, too. I dig it. They gots an interview up too.
The Princess and the Giant
This'n is wordless, and real stark black and white graphic-like. An interesting look.
Weave
OMFG motherfuckers. Just go look at this. I promise you won't be disappointed.

@ darkwaterfrey: Man, as I said in the comments of yer presentation- it oughta been you winnin' that award! Next year, I'm-a campaign for ya! And I was fuckin' thrilled that ya did the presentation, too. :D

@ stubblemonkey: Yeah, Vic don't think that far ahead. ;)

@ tommym: When I was younger (seven or eight) I used to imagine that our town would get firebombed or some shit in the night while I slept, and thousands of years from now archeologists would uncover the stuff in my room and speculate on what my life woulda been like in National Geographic. True story. I was a morbid kid.

@ny japlander: Yeah, I'm a bit compulsive. But outside of work and, uh, drinkin', the comic's pretty much all I do.

@wildcard: No, the technology works- you can see Vic lightin' up in #2 and earlier in #3; he's just outta fluid. ;)

@PIT FACE: Hells yeah. I've been that desperate before… but never enough to smoke a menthol, oddly enough.

@amanda: Mine own license picture is actually pretty fuckin' good. I'll be sad t' give it up when I get my LA license.

@don'tworrybehappy: Naw, as he said before, Vic ain't the type t' off himself. Funny enough, same time as I was inkin' this page I was walkin' down the street smokin', and this dude runs up to me and shouts, "Oh my God can I please bum a smoke? If I don't get a smoke I'm gonna fuckin' kill myself!" I gave the poor bastard one, as I believe I'd uttered them words before myself. Hyperbole, I believe it's called. ;)

@Kristen: heh. "Looseys". Naw, you see the pack earlier in #3, I think. And later, too. I just didn't show that part o' the sequence here. ;)

As for the "where does stuff come from"- yer mostly right, there. They do make some stuff in the Hub, but the rest… well, it gets explained. Good measure of absurdity to it, ya can be sure.

@karm2865: Dude, that looks way too complicated for Vic to figure out! ;)

@GraphicTruth: yeah, but doesn't it get… COLD up there? *shudder* I fear and despise the cold!
