Shortly after I started doing webcomics it was pointed out to me that a large white background on a computer monitor has quite a glare and since then I've tried to avoid too much white, where possible.

Then we have a comic like this with a skeleton wearing a nurse's uniform is standing in a hospital, three things known for their whiteness. Clearly I had to take some liberties with the color.
