Working on the last Rudolph cartoon and accidentally looking at a light bulb I had this idea.

Of course it's only a problem if you use a cartoony deer design for Rudolph. A reindeer's snout is actually more mooselike than deerlike so one could design a glowing portion that wouldn't blind him. So I guess the real reason he's blind is because of a lazy cartoonist. *shakes fist at the heavens* ;-)
