Here we go, a little explanation this page. The things people turn into when they go to this place are called 'Pieces', and each has a unique power- the mention of JoJo earlier in the comments wasn't far off base at all.
I'd been trying to make sure things are explained better in this comic, but another thing was pointed out earlier that I totally hadn't considered- it wasn't really clear that this new person that's showed up isn't Dan. Whoops! It's a different person.
Also, my scanner's broke and I don't have much of a backlog, so we've got another week or so before I have to sort something out or go on the dreaded hiatus.
