The Colonel reluctantly follows his comrades into the void. And, after a short trek, they came upon their first contacts. From the looks of them, they were definitely alien and hostile. And so Hedgedude took the only natural course of action appropriate for the situation, and delegated the task to his 870 twelve gauge. Because in situations like this, it's multilingual capacity is conveniently understandable to all who hear it speak, and few misunderstand what it utters. This seemed right, to both Hotpants and the Colonel, and concurred as a proper course of action when confronted with problematic creatures.
