Although there may only be three of our heroes, and they are certainly outnumbered, victory does not always go to numbers, but to the courage of heart, so that a smaller force can defeat a greater force. Morale is everything. Soldiers with high morale will be more efficient, and fight with greater alacrity than soldiers with low morale. This is why a wise commander will recognize and reward the courageous behaviour of his men. It is true that fear is more powerful than respect, but unlike the troops who respect their leader, the leader who uses fear to get results, is always in danger of his own men rising up against him, so that fear is a double edged sword, and in the long run, respect is better than fear. And treachery is less likely. Because troops who serve out of fear will have low morale, hating their commander.
