As soon as the billow of smoke cleared, that the boss caused by leaping into the ring, Hotpants wasted no time, and leaped at him with a furious attack. The boss expertly blocked Hotpants' assault, delivering a punishing vertical slash with his greatsword, which Hotpants caught, crossing his swords to recieve the blow. The boss' massive stroke came to naught, in the crux of Hotpants' blades. Hotpants used this moment before the boss can recover for another strike, to leap forward, faking an attack with his longsword, while delivering a wound with his shortsword, which penetrated the boss' breastplate. The boss, temporarily perturbed by this attack, swung his mighty sword in retaliation, with a mighty horizontal slash, which Hotpants did his best to overt. But not being quick enough, the massive blow bit into his helm, wounding him slightly, but stripping his helmet clean off. Hotpants, temporarily stunned by the blow, staggered backwards, hitting the wall behind him using it as a support to stay on his feet. His head spinning, the roar of the crowd, ringing in his ears, expecting at any minute a fatal blow from his overwhelming opponent, Hotpants contemplated the worst. Seeing their compatriot in mortal danger, Hedgedude and the Colonel burst out into the arena, armed and prepared for whatever to save their friend, against the monstrous boss of Tradertown, having no care for their own safety, but preferring to fall with their friend if need be.
