Man Monster's speech
ClannfearRock onAngry as they were, no one wished to challenge the boss. Especially now that they know the newcomers will defend him. Man Monster, standing in the midst of them, rose up his hand before them, beckoning their silence. And when the din of the crowd had subsided, Man Monster began to speak, in the most eloquent manner the A-Team had ever heard coming from Man Monster. And he spoke thusly: "Fans, men, and citizens of Tradertown. You believe because I did not finish these before me, that a violation has been committed. But I stand here, to assert to you, that there is no violation whatsoever here as you imagine. For I, myself am witness to the great laws of your town, being the 203rd 'Boss' of this noble city, I myself, have set laws in motion, but the situation now, is very different from what it was, a few moments ago. To which of you it can be attributed, the ruthlessness, capable of destroying one's own brethren. Or to find yourself in the dome, with one's own father, or mother. Would you still be expected to raise your hand to draw the blood of familial members?" At this, the crowd was confused over the eloquence and clarity of Man Monster's words. But there were others amongst the crowd, who disagreed, and still insisted the tradition must be upheld, and began to chant loudly "NO BLOOD, NO BOSS! NO BLOOD, NO BOSS!" Man Monster, perceiving that the crowd was divided amongst itself, rose his hand up again, and beckoning them to allow him to speak. When silence fell, Man Monster spoke thusly: " Men and brethren of Tradertown. I perceive that in all things, you are basically a just people. And fulfilling your law, is the noble purpose you seek. However, do not these chanters, calling for blood, violate those very laws themselves? In as much as they question the authority of the boss, who has deemed already the match to be over? Is it not written that the word of the boss is inviolable? But, besides that, these that stand before me, are as brothers to me. They are therefore, my mothers, brothers, and fathers. Which we, a short time ago, admitted, would be too great a requirement for fighters of the dome, of which I now am performing in the capacity of. Therefore, I too, should be extended this privilege of pardon, and pardoning." At this, the chanters were silenced, at the unassailable wisdom of Man Monster's position. And slowly, the crowd dissipated. Man Monster, turning to his compatriots, asked: "Where are those who accuse you now? Then neither do I." And so, believing the matter was settled, the whole A-Team, with Man Monster, retired to the boss' Fizztoppe lounge. For an evening of feasting, drinking, and revelry.
