Kristen Gudsnuk onwell, this page certainly took a long time to do. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a sculptor but I tried hard! I'm glad that Saint Kazimieras looks scary. His shadow was unavoidable though, I just hope no one minds it. oh but I dropped panel 1 kazimieras and messed up his hand by mistake, and didn't notice until I was photo-shoppin'. So it looks squashed. Also, I cut up a shirt of mine to use as the material of his robe-thing…
I've always liked the look of claymation, or any sort of sculpture that looks obviously unreal but is standing in for a narrative reality. Things like dioramas… American Girl Doll catalogue pages… barbie dolls all set up like they're having fun… Cabbage Patch dolls set up so they look like they're eating lunch… Those things just blow my mind. So I think that's why I did this page like I did. Also I had this book that I was like OBSESSED with when I was little, it was an Alice in Wonderland picture book with claymation pictures. It looked so neat!!!
And it's no mistake that Saint Kazimieras and Kazimieras look so similar… I imagine the saint to be Kaz's doppelganger.. or like, his Patronus (lol unnecessary harry potter reference) etc. heheh!
ooh my next page for Misfit Assassins is gonna be soooo cool, a surprise re-entrance from an old fave character!!!! O :!!! heh I haven't drawn it yet though. *edit* just finished, check out misfas!
Man oh man, this scene is probably gonna be the highlight of this whole comic…
ok vote for me on twc! Today's incentive is… hehe awesome lols.
oh go here to see some hilariously bad comics I did when I was 12.
edit: I photoshopped some of the shadows from the page; they looked a little distracting…
