They must've been pretty distracted by that flashback to forget that they were fleeing for they're lives from man-eating zombies. =)
I guess it's a testament to Ben and the Main Character's storytelling skills. ^_^
Either that, or they'd just assumed the door in the pillar would keep the zombies baffled.

And yes, I re-worked MC's hair just so I could actually draw it from the back. It's a good enough reason. That, and I think it looks more realistic this way.

Btw: I'm writing this on the 18th of September! Hurray for actually having a buffer! (Such as it is.)
