Dungeons & Dragons: Ashfruits of Evakar
QFMD onQ: The others are absent for this upload of a QFMD Special, so I will do the commentary and explain this for you. Yes, the fourth wall is broken.. Frankly, F**K the fourth wall..now then, if this will all fit, onward to the comment…
We the creators of QFMD, unanimously known as Kama/Gabe, Q/Josh, and Pete/…Pete, recently were brought into the light of the amazing world of Dungeons and Dragons. For those who don't know, which is crazy talk, D&D is a table-top RPG game in which one player creates a world and has basically a god-like reign, in which the other players characters reside and have their adventures in. Like any video-game RPG, you level up and gain abilities.
Well, in this comic, Gabe, our artist, decided to do something a little different than the stick figures we all know and love, and drew a scenario from Kitaku's (Q) and Ks'Adune's (Pete) mighty quest. In our D&D game, I, Q, play as a Eladrin Revenant Avenger named Kitaku, a Eladrin Elf denied death by the Raven Queen to serve a Divine Fate, that I myself do not know, while Pete, is a Warforged Battlemind. A Warforge is essentially a robotic, but sentient being that was created, and is searching to find why he even exists. His class, the Battlemind, uses scionic powers to overpower and obliterate his enemy with devastating mental warfare as well as crushing physical attacks.
In this scenario, we had arrived at Evakar I believe(Gabe if it's spelled wrong just edit this… Your all seeing mind created it, you can spell it.) and were searching for a new way to make gold, so we dropped by the Guild Hall. Like all Guild Halls in Floria, there was a job posting board and a group job posting board.
On the group job posting board we found a easy quest right there in Evakar to collect 20 Ashfruit to get 20 Gold. It also said each additional Ashfruit gained would award an extra 1 Gold each.. After asking around, and pretty much being mouthed off by the ever-racist elves, we had gained no real information other than the fact that they grew locally in Evakar.
Well, after much thinking and all, we decided to search at the bottom of the magma pits. I rolled a high perception roll, and was able to determine that there was SOMETHING at the bottom of the magma pits. Since I play effectively what is an undead, there was no way I was going into the pits, (Though if I had chosen the ability to become full-undead I could have) so I called the help of my Warforged friend, made of a enchanted metal that acts as armor against almost everything.
After standard endurance rolls and what not to make sure he doesn't take damage from the magma, I rolled a History roll to see if I remembered anything about where Ashfruit were in my past life, and I rolled high confirming that the Ashfruit were at the bottom. Ks'Adune however rolled a perception roll to see if he could see them without diving down. Instead, he rolled low and simply stated "Where's the Ashfruit!". And hence this comic was born.
Keep in mind, we creators of QFMD live at almost literally 3 of the 4 corners of the United States. D&D can be done all online if you have the right tools. If you have questions on HOW to do this, you'd have to ask Gabe. I have no goddamn clue.
Sadly, no. As much as I know you all would like to quest with us, it would simply be too hard to keep up with all of the characters in Floria if you all joined us for the great Dungeon Master Gabriel to handle…
