So, the first two spells might seem reduntant, but there's reason why there are two nearly identical spells. You'll learn why later on, though you might be able to guess why here. Anyway, spells one and two apply to ALL demons, not just the Retsinis. As you may have guessed, I borrowed this idea from vampire myths.

If you recall, way way back on pages 16 & 17, Earl was actually counting down the minutes until the third spell ended and he could attack Angela.
