It seems to me in stories, movies, manga etc. whenever the writers don't want the character to use a cell phone, the battery is dead or it can't pick up a signal. I don't often see a character dropping a phone, unless it's in a non-serious situation, and then it's usually in a toilet. (note to self, why haven't I done that in MDJ…?)

Anyway, I thought that having Ginny being so upset that her hands were shaking and she dropped the phone seemed a little fresher. But I'm sure someone is reading this thinking "GAWD! I'm so SICK of seeing characters dropping cell phones all the time! Can't they just *once* have a dead battery?". But it's not something I can remember seeing in a serious situation.
