The Naidruag are actually an odd exception: they were made to help some humans. (pg 65) And then Shreer (that's also a typo in those pages) used them to fight in the Great Big Really Long War Among the Gods (GBRLWG)
The Welej are also an exception. (Q&A with Elijah #1)
