Chapter 3 - pg. 92
Nicotine onUh-oh, looks like Raul set himself up for a rough evening. :/ These two have a lot of history.
Anyways, as some of you may already know, I lost Best Mystery/Noir (again) xD Well there's always next year I guess (again…) But it's always a competitive category, and of course only one can come on top. You can see the presentation for the category here. Don't you love how cute James and Ophelia look?!? It doesn't really happen, but I love when people draw my characters :D. And btw, the DD awards are still updating with extras, you can access the page for that banner above.
It kind of sucks that I have an awesome idea for a concession speech comic, but I have zero time to execute it D: It was going to evolve a lot of the characters and the Duck and Quail, too!! *sigh* Kind of makes me feel a little down/ungrateful that I can't do it ^^; But I really appreciate you all voting for me, and I enjoy the motivation that your comments give, honestly. I was looking at the complete voting thread, and I was shocked to see that I also got a least one vote in Best Black and White (I'd have no chance in that! xDD), Best Adult (B-but I don't run an adult comic ^^;), and Best Layouts (I think I'd be smoked in that too, haha). I seriously don't think I'd be able to hold my own in those, but thanks for thinking about me for those categories as well :D
Since in the awards I've been doing a lot of thinking about the story, kind of felt a little depressed about it, but I've decided that, even though people may not like how there are severe plot-twists, I'm comfortable about what I'm doing. Personally, I'd rather give you a story where you cannot predict what everyone's motives are right off the bat; I think stories like that are boring. And honestly, as crazy as it seems, I'm shooting for a slight art-imitates-life sort of thing.
Most of the time that I watch television, I'm watching stories about crime and serial killers xD. It's so interesting to me, and one thing I notice is that the killers are the most unlikely people, some with fictional-sounding pasts and crimes that you would never dream to be true. A lot of them you would never expect to kill anyone. Ever heard of the "Ken and Barbie Murderers"? Or the "Sunset Slayer" (Very disturbing story!) ? Or the "Moors Murders" (Killing children and basically partying on their graves @_@. Sounds very unlikely, right?)? Basically, I'm shooting for the same thing, except I want to show you the background of every character's life and how they all become involved with this killer and how their life situations make them change/do the things they end up doing.
I know I can work on my writing, but I'm not working blindly. I know exactly how I want this story to end, where everyone will end up, how I want them to end up there. This is a 3 part, 550-600 pg story, so I know a lot has not been revealed and that my slow updates are annoying ^^;. I drive myself a little crazy over this comic sometimes because I can't work very fast and there so much I want to share. Which is probably why I lack readership xD. The only reason why I draw it myself is so I can say that I draw it, haha :D. I like to write way more than draw, but I want to improve so badly. Been trying to work on my bubble placement, cut down on drowning dialogue, ect.
Anyway, enough of my rambling :P
@usedbooks - I could never be a gangster or cop either, I don't do well under pressure! But since I was young I wanted to be a police detective. Oh well :/
@Peipei- Good man? Maybe, but in everyone has their own motive as well. :D
@Tantz - thank you! The Macbook Pro is very expensive, but it's a great product! Haven't had any problems with it, and I love Photoshop for the Mac
@DAJB - very!
@wildcard - Thank you so, so much again for going through the entire comic and commenting so much! I enjoyed reading all those comics (I admit, I read a couple more than once)! It feels great to know you enjoy it! :D
