Little factoid for this page about Omerta. It's actually a pretty old code adopted by Cosa Nostra families that men in those families have to abide by in tandem with other strict rules. A lot of the rules started to fall away though in the later 20th century, especially concerning the American Italian mob. Later on they even started to accept non-Scicilian members which would have never happened during Marcello and Raul's time.
