And this year for April Fool's, we have the governor suffering from one Hyde's many pranks. The story behind this is how stingy and yet egotistical Carew is. He never has money to give to those who need it, but he has plenty of money to feed his own ego namely to make a Greek style statue of himself in his garden. And anyone who has read Act 1 knows Carew does not treat the artists he employs very well let alone humanely. So Hyde took it upon himself to add some artistic details to the statue.
