NEW SUPERFOGEYS.COM PRE-LAUNCH DAY 3!

(The following is taken from the new superfogeys.com:)

This is it–day 3 of the new superfogeys.com pre-launch extravaganza! The site has whole new look and every day this week features new SF material. I'll also be highlighting one of the new features of this amazing site that Th3rd World (with a bit of input and some artwork from me) put together.

Let's take a little look at what this new site has to offer new readers, or old readers that are just trying to keep it all straight. You'll notice that just above the strip are a series of tabs. A few of these are going to be of real, regular benefit to you, the reader.

First up is the tab labeled "Story." This is the place to go if you just don't feel like getting into the archive just yet, but you still want to be caught up and start reading. Each chapter gets its own summary, written by me. Every time a new chapter is finished a new summary will appear. Good for long time readers wanting to know what I think are the important plot points as well.

Next to that is the "Characters" tab. This is one of my favorites. My goal is to have every character that graces the pages of SF have their own spot here. Along with a brief description, you'll also find a link to the first appearance of each character. Pretty handy. I'm trying to keep these fairly well updated as well, with a word or two about the current status of the character.

Finally, for those who care about such things, is the "Bio" tab. Just a few paragraphs about me and mine with as much sincerity as I was able to muster. Also featured is an actual photograph of my person. Yes, I do exist. For fun, I'll be changing the photo out every week. Don't expect the normal, smilely mug you see now to last much beyond this coming Sunday.

Cellmates, Page 2

So…why is there a post on a Wednesday and what is "Cellmates?" Well, last week SuperFogeys Collection #3 went off to the printers (you can order your copy today at the SuperFogeys Store) and it features an 11-PAGE bonus story drawn by the phenomenal Chip Skelton (Broken).

Thanks in large part to Chip, "Cellmates" is one of the best pieces of sequential art I've had the privilege to work on. This week, on the "off" days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) I'll be presenting the first 3 pages of this story for your viewing enjoyment. If you want the rest of the story…well, you know.

Mad Men

I love, love, love this show. Art, when it's done right, should be entertaining as well. I've always believed that. That's Mad Men in spades. This season has been even better than the first one, and I really had my doubts about whether or not that was possible. I refuse to get cable or satellite, but it's a my pleasure to pay iTunes to send the episodes directly to me. I'd easily pay double for something this masterful.

Betty confronting Don and calling him out on his garbage was something that had been coming for a long time. So, so glad it went the way it did. I really thought she'd back down after all of his constant denials. The fact that she didn't made me love her character all the more, but the fact that I found a part of myself still rooting for Don made me fall in love with the show all over again.

Do yourself a favor–go rent or buy season 1 immediately if you haven't seen it. Not saying Mad Men is for everyone–but if you like a good story well told AND you like the kind of entertainment that stays with you long after you've shut it off, then I think I just helped you find your new favorite show.
