Mystery about the parcel is now solved, as well as a little more insight on what it means to be a samurai. At the time I wrote this, my experience with samurai had been acquired only through movies.

Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, The Last Samurai, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, etc.

The code of Bushido is a very interesting one, and one that does get explored a little later in this tale. However, since writing this story, I have actually dug up some literature on the subject matter and have increased my knowledge greatly. Books such as "Hagakure: The Way of the Samurai" by Yamamoto Tsunetomo, as well as "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu.

Great reading, for anyone interested in warrior philosophy or ancient Japanese writings.
