Catching Up With Cheeba

As a writer, it's definitely hard to encapsulate an entire lifetime or several years of history into a few dialogue bubbles. That's my constant battle with this project and with films I have written/directed; marrying dialogue and visual aspects to a happy medium so as not to omit or have too much of one or the other, and to effectively tell the story. I have a horrible tendency to "overwrite" characters and not to simply let the visuals tell the story ("Everything doesn't have to be in the dialogue", I constantly keep telling myself). I have to begin trusting my audience a bit more; that they will understand what I'm going for. You guys are intelligent! You don't need EVERYTHING explained to you! You CAN connect the dots!

What can I say, it's a flaw that I'm constantly working on. I'm getting there…slowly but surely.
