Bass may always lose to Megaman but here he fights one of Wily's bot so it seems that Bass know all Shadowman's tricks. On the contrary I don't think that Shadowman could predict Bass's move because we have to admit that he really is unpredictable.

As for the joke, I wanted to make Bass sarcastic about every one and everything because I think that this is the kind of behavior that he could have. And for the reference to Naruto, well with a ninja robot it was obvious to make this one.
